Cowboy Prostitutes Interview

GB: Tell me a few words about the band? How you all get together?

I moved from London to Sweden in 2002 and there I met Anders Wickström ( the guitarist) and decided to form a band that would be taking no shit from anyone and would deliver the kind of Rock’n’Roll the world has been missing for the past 15 years.

GB: All the members of the band have the same influences?

No, but we all like one thing: good ol’ Rock songs!

GB: You have signed a contract with Retrospect Records. How easy is to find a good label these days?

Very difficult. We were lucky with Retrospect Records but not everyone is: I know a lot of bands that have signed the first contract they get just so that they can say “they’re signed” and then get stuck with a shitty deal. Or bands that signed with some major label and then get nothing for years ‘cause the “big” label has too many artists to take care of and hasn’t got time for them.

GB: Fav. bands?

Guns’n’Roses, Motley Crue, Hanoi Rocks, Social Distortion, LA GUNS

GB: Describe your music?

No more bullshit! These are great Rock songs!

GB: 3 records that you bought lately?

Quireboys best of, DanzigIII, Velvet Revolver.

GB: What's the music situation in Sweden these day's?(when it comes to R'n'R)

There’s far too many bands trying to too hard to copy Backyard Babies and Hellacopters and a few actually doing their own thing.

GB: Do you have plans for a tour?

We are trying but it will still take some time: we don’t want to end up in one of those last minute tours where everything goes wrong and you’re just upsetting the fans. When we hit the road we want to be able to deliver a great show every night and that takes a bit of planning. You never know: we might be playing in a venue near you soon.

GB: What do you know about Greece?

I know quite a lot about Greek mythology and ancient history, but I don’t really know much about what it is like nowadays; I’d love to come and find out with my own eyes though!

GB: Few words about your new full lenght album?

It will lift you to the sky and then drag you to hell! It will give no mercy and it will live you breathless! You know why? ‘Cause in the end it’s just another great Rock’n’Roll album
